Alleppey, Kochi and Kovalam Tour Overview

This 7-day Kerala tour covers Kochi, the misty hill station of Munnar, wildlife-rich Thekkady, the backwaters of Alleppey on a traditional houseboat, and the golden beaches of Kovalam with sightseeing in Trivandrum. Guests will arrive at Kochi, travel through the Western Ghats with scenic waterfalls and viewpoints, enjoy full-day sightseeing in Munnar including tea gardens and optional Eravikulam National Park, proceed to Thekkady for Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary experiences and optional cultural shows, cruise the tranquil Alleppey backwaters on a houseboat with onboard meals and sunset views, visit the Azhimala Shiva Statue en route to Kovalam and explore Kovalam beaches and Trivandrum city attractions including Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, Napier Museum and Kanakakkunnu Palace. The itinerary includes hotel and houseboat accommodation, transfers, selected meals and private vehicle sightseeing.

Alleppey, Kochi and Kovalam Tour Itinerary

Day 1

Kochi to Munnar

Upon arrival at Kochi Airport or Railway Station, guests will be met by the representative and proceed towards Munnar. En route the journey passes through the Western Ghats with scenic views and visits to Cheeyappara Waterfalls and Valara Waterfalls and various viewpoints surrounded by lush greenery. On arrival in Munnar, guests check into the hotel and relax amid the refreshing mountain atmosphere. Overnight stay is at Munnar.

Day 2

Munnar Full Day Sightseeing

After breakfast, guests proceed for a full-day sightseeing tour of Munnar covering the famous Tea Gardens, Tea Museum, Mattupetty Dam, Echo Point, Kundala Lake, Photo Point and other scenic attractions. Time and operational conditions permitting, the itinerary may include a visit to Eravikulam National Park (Rajamalai), home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr. Return to the hotel and overnight stay at Munnar.

Day 3

Munnar to Thekkady

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed towards Thekkady through the scenic hills of Idukki. Upon arrival, guests visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and explore the surrounding areas and may opt for optional activities such as Periyar Lake boating, spice plantation visits, elephant activities and cultural performances subject to availability. Later guests check into the hotel and stay overnight at Thekkady.

Day 4

Thekkady to Alleppey Houseboat

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and proceed to Alleppey. Upon arrival board the traditional Kerala houseboat by 12:00 PM and begin a relaxing cruise through the tranquil backwaters. Guests will enjoy views of coconut groves, paddy fields, village life and narrow canals while relishing freshly prepared Kerala cuisine onboard. Watch the sunset over the backwaters before the houseboat anchors for the night.

Day 5

Alleppey to Kovalam via Azhimala Shiva Statue

After breakfast on board, check out from the houseboat by 9:00 AM and proceed towards Kovalam. En route visit the Azhimala Shiva Statue located along the Arabian Sea coastline. Upon arrival in Kovalam visit Lighthouse Beach, Hawa Beach and Samudra Beach. Later check into the hotel and relax. Overnight stay at Kovalam.

Day 6

Kovalam – Trivandrum Sightseeing – Kovalam

After breakfast, proceed for Trivandrum sightseeing including a visit to the sacred Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple for darshan subject to temple timings and dress code. Depending on time, visit Pazhavangadi Sree Mahaganapathy Temple, Napier Museum, Trivandrum Zoo and Kanakakkunnu Palace. Return to Kovalam for overnight stay.

Day 7

Kovalam to Trivandrum Drop

After breakfast, check out from the hotel. Depending on departure timing, guests may enjoy leisure time or visit nearby attractions. Later proceed to Trivandrum Airport or Railway Station for onward journey. Tour concludes with memories of Kerala's hills, wildlife, backwaters, beaches, spiritual heritage and cultural experiences.
